Woodland Walks

There is something special about walking through woodland in the early morning, when the mist hangs between the trees and the familiar landscape takes on a completely different character.

Ancient trees emerge slowly from the grey, their trunks fading into the distance while the first light begins to filter through the canopy. Details that might normally go unnoticed suddenly become the focus, a twisted branch, a fallen trunk, or the delicate patterns of leaves and cobwebs catching the moisture.

For me, these are the moments when photography becomes less about simply recording what is in front of you and more about seeing. The mist removes the distractions, creating layers and depth while drawing the eye towards whatever breaks through the haze.

Sometimes, the best images are found not by looking for something spectacular, but by slowing down and noticing what the morning has quietly revealed.
